North Avondale Montessori School was rebuilt as $14.8-million state-of-the-art Community Learning Center designed to prepare students academically and artistically. With 84684 square feet of academic, recreational and community spaces, the school can serve 650 students in grades preschool through six. It was created with the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori in mind. This dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony features student performances and remarks from Herbert Heibrun and John Leahr, two World War II veterans who were classmates at North Avondale in the 1920s.
