Urine to Fertilizer Public Reaction

Added by | 9 yearss ago

As the premier event of the Expel series at the Asia Song Society gallery in Chinatown, NY, we held a Urine to Fertilizer Public Reaction on April 6, 2009. Participants drank beer and socialized as we transformed their urine into fertilizer. This video shows the part of the process when we added Magnesium Chloride to the vat of collected pee. The MgCl bonds to the nitrogen, phosphorus and many of the pharmaceuticals, creating a solid fertilizer that people were able to take home for their houseplants.
